The streets are empty
Struck silent by a wasting breath
That rolls in from foreign shores
Under a blanket of grey

The crumbling brick and rotten wood that held the elements at bay

A biting cold you once thought gone has got its fangs into the walls
Cracking apart the foundation as it leaves you bare

Exposed to the darkness
And the howling wind

It moves within you
This malady of misery
Draining what life you had
And leaving nothing but the grey

The horrid bile that billows out of open wounds upon your skin
Leaves its mark where you once were as it consumes you
Black buboes bursting from within to vomit hate into the world
'til the wretched form you carry is just skin and bone
